Clinic Manager Job Summary

The purpose of the Clinical Manager position is to assist the Clinical Director in overall direction of health and clinical services. This position oversees the areas of clinical services and activities including, performance reviews, participant relations, participant safety, regulatory compliance and service excellence.

Essential Functions

The Clinical Manager provides clinical and administrative supervision, clinical oversight, training and mentoring for assigned staff using the Triple Aim framework of “Improving the health of the population, improving the care for the individual and lowering the cost per capita”. The position supervises clinical activities ensuring clinical programming supports the Resilient Health’s resiliency building and trauma responsive philosophy, in accordance with state and federal regulations while meeting licensure/accreditation standards. Ensures compliance with budgets and coordination of clinical and primary care services with the purpose of improving the overall health of participants under their purview.

  • Interpersonal skills which allow for professional and positive relationships with co-workers, members, families, and other community stakeholders.
  • Strong clinical skills, including crisis de-escalation preferred.
  • Good communication skills, evidenced by a non-judgmental approach, effective listening and positive interactions.
  • Thorough understanding of clinical documentation requirements and procedures.
  • DSM-V competency.


  • Must be licensed, Independent preferred in accordance with ARS Chapter 33, Article 1, under the Arizona Board, of Behavioral Health Examiners.
  • Must have three to five years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Master's degree in behavioral health or a related human service field.
  • Current and valid certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and valid driver’s license.
  • Current and valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License.

Knowledge of:

  • Behavioral health assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Principles and methods of psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Special needs and characteristics of the client population.
  • Counseling principles and methods.
  • Methods of prevention of violent behavior or behavior harmful to the client or others.
  • Behavior management in crisis situations.
  • Recognition of indications, common side effects, reactions and interactions of medications commonly used by the client population.
  • How to access resources for assistance.
  • Effective management techniques to motivate staff improve productivity and foster a positive work environment.
  • Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Electronic health record, Credible preferred


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Identifies individuals’ strengths and/or development needs and provides coaching to help them develop skills and knowledge to maximize talent.
  • Partners with Clinical Managers or site administrators from other areas of the company and maintains the “one company” vision.
  • Fully understand the business and uses it to delegate and hold people accountable.
  • Clarifies each team members’ responsibilities and priorities.
  • Other duties as negotiated/assigned.

Physical Requirements


Must be able to lift and carry boxes/packages up to 25 pounds as needed. Must be able to push and pull file cabinet/desk drawers open and closed daily.

Body Positions/Movements:

Sits in a chair at a desk for extended numbers of hours each workday: moves from office to office. Must be able to retrieve items/supplies on overhead shelves and bend/stoop to reach files located in bottom file cabinets. Drives to and from client apartments. 

Hand Use/Sense:

Manual dexterity sufficient to use calculator, telephone, keyboard and various office machines on a daily basis and be able to write. Must be able to communicate both in person and on the telephone, enter information on the computer and read various instructions. Be able to read numbers, reports, and computer terminals.

Mental Requirements

Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action. Personal maturity is an important attribute. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Ability to give, receive, and analyze information, prepares written materials, and articulate goals and action plans. Ability to do simple math calculations, input data into the computer, and analyze data as requested.

Equipment to Be Used

Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, telephone, copy machine, and so on.

Working Conditions

Works in a typical office setting, as well as indoor and outdoor community events. Attends meetings at other site locations which include various driving weather conditions.
